We buy e-bikes specifically suited to the terrain and surface of the carriage roads, but also suitable for the Park Loop Road if you choose. Tires that are too narrow won’t work well on the carriage roads, and fat tires are made for sandier, softer surfaces.  At Acadia Bike and Acadia Outfitters, you’ll get bikes that are perfect for surfaces you’ll be encountering on your ride.

Our staff of full-service mechanics keeps our equipment in tip-top shape. And in the unlikely event of a flat tire or a mechanical issue, we’re rescue-ready to come help in a hurry.  Not all rental companies have that capability.

Up to nine hours, if you wish -- and half-day rentals are available on a walk-in basis at a reduced rate. With our convenient, flexible pick-up and return times, you don’t have to worry about meeting someone at the Acadia National Park Visitor Center at a prescribed time.

Our shop location in downtown Bar Harbor is 1.7 miles from the nearest Carriage Road. When you arrive at our shop, our customer service staff will be happy to explain how to get to that entrance.
