Ranger-led Tours

  • July & August- Tuesdays through Fridays, 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.

  • September- Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.

Led by National Park Service rangers, these tours run Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays in July and August and Tuesdays and Thursdays in September. Ride through the famous carriage roads of Acadia National Park while learning more of the park's history and ecology.  Designed for the recreational biker, this 2 1/2 hour tour is great for families and covers six miles of carriage roads. Plus, if you'd like to continue riding after the tour ends, you're welcome to keep your bikes through the end of the day! *Minimum age is 8 years old.

This tour begins and ends in the parking lot of the Hulls Cove Visitor Center, 25 Visitor Center Drive, Bar Harbor, Maine.

Because of the tour’s early meet and start times, if you’re coming to Bar Harbor on a cruise ship, it’s not feasible to be able to tender in and get transportation to the Visitor Center in time. We recommend those coming off a cruise ship to rent bikes from our downtown location at 48 Cottage Street.

Cost is $57 per person and includes use of bikes for the remainder of the day.*  Click below to reserve now!

*Please note that because this tour is so popular, you may cancel or change the date without charge up to one week prior to the tour. Once within the cancellation window, you would be responsible for the cost of the tour. To cancel your reservation, you must speak with a customer service representative by calling 800-526-8615. Email cancellations are not accepted.

*If keeping bikes through the end of the day, they must be dropped back off at our bike shop, located at 48 Cottage Street in Bar Harbor by 5:00 p.m.
